Softbait fishing has taken New Zealand by storm. Bait, burley and chum is no more needed, and it’s an extremely effective way of catching several species.

Snapper is the main target but other species such as John Dory, trevally, kahawai, kingfish and a variety of other bottom feeders can be targeted with this approach.

Berkley’s Gulp baits have until now been sitting on top of the market but other brands of soft baits are now available.
Slam baits from Stimulate is the new one out, and has proven itself to be deadly on big snapper and kingfish. A more durable design is another great advantage of the Slam baits.

We carry a good range of high quality gear for our clients to use. Fast loading graphite rods from Shimano, Berkley and Tica with matching reels.
As this style of fishing is so effective and easy, it fits everybody from beginners to advanced fishermen.

Traditional bait fishing is another option for those specifically targeting big snapper, Hapuka (groper) or Bass.
Again all gear is supplied.
